ACTIVE TIMES/PACE: Central Time; irregular hours. I can be both slow and irregular with my pace. I have several health issues, and some days I can't tag at all. If I haven't tagged back in a while and you want to make sure I got the tag or am still planning to return it, feel free to poke me.
STYLE: No preference between brackets or prose; prefer present tense, but will match past. I will occasionally post to texting memes, but tend to have trouble keeping up with text threads for long unless they switch to in-person.
OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS & TRIGGERS: No gore in picture prompts, no graphic descriptions of gore in tags.

CHARACTER BASICS
CANON: bare: a pop opera
HELPFUL LINKS: wikipedia | album lyrics: act one, act two
SHORT FORM: Heavily closeted popular boy at his Catholic boarding school and golden child of his abusive parents, just wants to be happy with his boyfriend but too petrified of what happens if he fails all the expectations placed on him.
DEFAULT CANON POINT: Variable.
CANON ERA: Circa early 2000s, but can be moved around within modern era a bit for smashing-together ease
AGE DURING CANON: 17
NOTES ON CANON VARIANTS: Generally speaking, especially when playing with non-Bare characters, I default towards the 2004 Off-Broadway Bare (John Hill), with a little influence from the cast album, and very little from the 2013 Revival. 2004!Bare has several lyrical differences, but only one plot difference that I'm aware of (Jason never lies to Peter during All Grown Up, and they don't reunite at that point), so they can be folded together fairly easily. (Will default to later versions of canon without discussion where it makes a difference to threads.) For canonmates especially, feel free to give me a poke if you want to discuss anything before threading.

OUT OF CHARACTER
BACKTAGS/SLOWTIME: Always, and happy to do it for ages. Please feel free to respond to things no matter how old they are, as well.
THREADHOPPING: Check, but generally fine.
FOURTHWALLING: Go for it.
NOT INTERESTED IN: Smut without build-up or previous CR. Handwaving forward to a point where Jason's already figured out all his issues (I'm much more interested in the process of dealing with them).

IN CHARACTER
VISUAL: PB reference. Relatively tall, athletic, put-together but casual; even in school uniform he generally sheds the top layers to leave him in something more comfortable. Body language is very open when relaxed (or trying very hard to appear relaxed), but tends to snap into holding himself tightly very fast once he's pushed or feels tense or upset.
PHYSICAL AFFECTION: Jason is physically affectionate with people he likes when things are good, and will hug, prod, touch, etc, with friends often, especially if they're close. However, he tends to pull back abruptly and completely when stressed or upset. He also tends to flirt with female friends as a habit and a camouflage when in public, which involves a fair bit of touching.
PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: Go for it. He doesn't default to fighting most of the time, but he won't back down from it either, and will lash out physically if pushed enough. He's in good shape and athletic, but has no training with any kind of fighting and no supernatural edge, so can easily be bested by anyone with either of those.
PSYCHIC & PSIONIC INFORMATION: He is 100% normal human, no blocks, no special ways of telling what's going on. Anyone in his head is going to quickly realize just how much tension there is directly below the surface. Jason is constantly putting on an act to try and be what everyone wants him to be, and just as constantly worrying that he's not doing it well enough. His love for Peter and his fear of people finding out also are likely to stand out like a giant beacon, especially if Peter's anywhere near.
OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS & TRIGGERS: Bare: A Pop Opera, and Jason's background/plot specifically, deals with homophobia, being closeted and internalized homophobia, being gay in a strict religious setting, religious doubts and issues in general, parental neglect and emotional abuse, drugs, teen pregnancy, and suicide. Jason's personal triggers are... well, basically all of those except drugs and, if pre- or early-canon and therefore before they become relevant, the last two.

RELATIONSHIPS
PLATONIC: Always A+. Jason tends to hide a lot from his friends, but he does care a lot about them, and he makes them pretty easily.
NEGATIVE: Also good! While he'll generally try not to respond if they come up, Jason does have quite a few buttons to press, and will lash out if they're leaned on hard enough or if he's scared about his secret coming out. He tries not to piss people off in general, though, so he'll likely try to make friends first.
SHIPPING: Always up for it, but with a couple of asterisks. M/M for requited shipping; trying and failing desperately to be straight with girls is an option, but there's not going to be real feelings there even if he manages to tell himself there are. Jason has all sorts of issues around his sexuality that make relationships kind of a mess; it's going to be hard for him to admit he's even interested in someone, and he's going to be insistent about hiding it. Willing to handwave into established relationships for threading purposes, but would rather not handwave past all the issues getting worked out, with a possible exception for Peter, since canon takes care of sketching out the build-up there. As canonmates go, Peter is absolutely always a yes; if anyone else happens to be out there, let's talk.

WANT ADS
Bonding with other queer people, especially for platonic relationships, and doubly so if the other party actually survived high school and/or got away from a homophobic family. Pre-canon cute romantic things with Peter and siblingly things with Nadia. Post-canon AU where Jason survives and everyone has to deal with the aftermath. Fake game setting where Jason actually did die but he and any canonmates wind up in another world and have to deal with shit. In whatever kind of AU allows for it to happen, Jason and Peter very slowly and uncertainly rebuild their relationship. Co-parenting awkwardly with Ivy. Really, just awkward and messy things with Ivy, in general. Ghost!Jason haunts Peter and/or Nadia through college. Crossover CR with other musical characters.
